Awkward lagging in playing 720p or 1080p videos

Hi, first of all, I am more than happy with my LT26i that just received the 6.2.B.1.96. it is a **bleep** of a device. however, I use MX Player Pro for watching movie which is laggy since the JB update. I purchased & upgraded to MX Player Pro v1.7.19 but no luck at all. I thought this 6.2.B.1.96 would solve my problem. I only feel it in playing 720p/1080p video playback. MX Pro was perfectly fine in the ICS. now, I have informed the MX Player developers about this fact & it seems I am not the only one with this issue for the LT26i.

Hence it it will be a great step for you guys to show me a way. Thanks for the update anyway Grinning_Face

I am also having the same problem. in ICS all 720p and 1080p videos played without any lag in MX player. But after the upgrade even some 480p videos show some lag while playing.

Lets hope Sony put some focus here.

I also was having the same problems with my videos but when I change the screen settings from Auto to Normal the videos suffer from no lag! It may be that the phone is trying to do too much in Auto mode.

I'm delighted that I can use my video camera once more!

Try it out yourself and lets know how you get on,

Mick.

I think Mick is talking about camera settings while recording videos which I feel inappropriate here in this post. But anyway i will check it once wether it works to remove log while recording videos.

Hi guys, yes I was talking about setting the camera/video settings from Auto to Normal especially in Video. I can't tell you how frustrated I'd become with the lag issue in the videos but for me, just setting the video camera to Normal solved the lag issue, so yes my comment is relevant here.

Since I changed modes for recording video the phone is able to playback the videos instead of getting error messages.

Hopefully this works out for guys too!

Mick.

No offence Mick but the discussion here is about the playback of the video files which are external movies/video_album files and not the recorded videos with phone.

And one more thing i want to share with you is after 1.96 update there is no videolag for me while recording 1080p/720p irrespective of the setting you mentioned in your earlier post.

Guys can you do me a favour and see if it lags o after disabling hardware overlay in dev options

Dont leave it disabled as your cpu usage will increase and so will your battery drain massively

Hardware overlaybug has been causing lag in browser in landscape, the YouTube app whilst playing 720p hd and also M.D. Player when you touch the screen during playback

Mick dear plz do not take any offence but yes, the discussion really is about the playback lagging of any 720p or 1080p files be it movies or else. one thing i feel for sure is that after having the update i haven't noticed any lag in full hd recording. although it is not the issue here. anyway thanks to all.

@saif what a coincidence I just posted the same in other post http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-S-SL-acro-S/The-new-6-2-B-1-96-update-didn-t-improve-anything-t...

After changing the setting I didn't find much lag as earlier.
