automatic brightness

Dear guys,

how to make light sensor in Xperia U to work automatically? i entered settings > display > brightness, and checked automatic brightness box, but i don't notice the screen dims or changes according to the differents light intensity?

facing the same problem, Infact I was going to start a thread on the same issue.

It seems the phone doesn't have an ambient light sensor.

I used some hardware info apps and they all confirm it. I suggest you too to check once.

but sony's xperia u white paper claims that it has one.

try to run some test
dial *#*#7378423#*#*>service test>ambient light sensor, cover the sensor or flash a light to it. does the values change?

you can observe the ambient light sensor more if the screen brightness is not set to max.

ya, too dark or too bright , it stays still.

well technically it would be a hardware glitch,

I would suggest to perform a factory data reset or repair with Sony update Service

if that does not help, Please send your phone to a sony service center near you.

did you put another screen protector? or is there something blocking the sensor?

only the one which is provided by sony (in the box), not any other.
