.apk files installation problem

Hello sony xperia support team,

I am having problems installing apps on my mobile. apps which are previously downloaded and which is in .apk form when i click on them and select package installer to install them the install button doesnt respond at all i dont know since when i was having this problem but i found it out recently

i rebooted the system no use. its been 6 months since i used the phone. if more details are required please let me know as i will provide the needful

i have restarted the phone and tried but no use. what could be the issue? i turn off the wifi/internet connection still no good.

android version - 4.0.4

build number - 6.1.a.2.45

Have you enabled installations from unknown sources? Because as I understand these APK's of yours are located on the memory and not installed from Play store?

yes i have checked that option because without it i wont even reach till the installer also it wil prompt to put a check mark on it. Also i did a factory reset today to see if the problem fixes but the problem persists. wat else can i do to overcome this problem!!!

What kind of app you were trying to install? Did you try installing any other application apk's ?

Actually any .apk file which i download from pc and try to install on my phone was not happening.

well i guess it was the recent software update did not happen properly which caused this. i got it serviced in sony service center as it was still under warranty so nw its working fine.
