Hi there, I've been trying to upgrade the software version of my Xperia Neo but whenever I try to do it, it fails. I have to use PC Companion (Update Service is not available apparently because my internet provider does not allow it - so thank you Vodafone) , so I connect the phone to my computer with the USB, PC companion detects my mobile phone and it tells me that there's a new software version and so I can upgrade it. Problem comes when PC companion checks my mobile phone, it shuts it down (while connected to the computer) and next PC companion aks me to do that which you can see in the screen print (sorry it's in Spanish). I've tried to do it several times and there is no response whatsoever. Any idea of what the problem may be? have any of you had this same problem?
Thank you very much!
try to mnaually flash the original firmware from the ftp files available on the xda websites !! it will not result in loss of ur warranty as it does work with locked bootloaders !! only if some customizations have been made then the bootloader needs to be made !! however carefully read the instructions and wola u will have the ur desired update without any problems !! also i guess there is a web based update service available on the sony mobile website visit it and it runs a java apllication to detect whether an update is available or not !! try any of the above emthods to get the latest updated firmware on ur neo !! plz mark correct if u find useful
When you follow these steps does the phone LED turn green?
Have you tried to move the cable to another USB port?
