Another cracked screen!!

Another cracked screen!!

Like many others I'm very disappointed with Sony.

My phone screen also has cracked for no reason, I had it in my pocket and whilst walking home the screen cracked by itself!

It was only after looking on line I found this is a common problem with Sony phones and has also appeared on BBC Watchdog, so I was hopeful that Sony would be aware of the problem and fix my phone under warranty.

No such luck!!!! After sending my phone last week I received an invoice yesterday for £85 to repair the phone.

After calling the support desk they advised that the repair centre decided that my cracked screen was not their fault and I would therefore not qualify for a free repair.

It’s an absolute joke that that is a common fault and I have done nothing to my phone to cause this crack. I have had iphones (wished I never changed and tried Sony) before and hold my hands up and say I have cracked 2 screens through dropping them but with my Sony phone it was in my pocket whilst walking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So by the looks of it I'm in the same boat as 100's of others that 1) have to repair their phone through no fault of their own and 2) will not be buying Sony products again!!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I'm sorry to hear that.
Unfortunately, it's not much I can do from my position. I suggest that you raise this with your local support team for further information about how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

I don't know if you are in the UK? If you are this problem was reported on the TV program "Watch Dog" and they got Sony to admit that there was a problem with the screens and they would repair free of charge and reimburse those that had paid for a repair! Try reminding Sony and if they still refuse report it on the BBC Watch Dog web site.
