Android Marshmallow 6 on our Xperia Z5

Good Morning to You ALL !

This is our big day

Our most expected day

Android 6 MM has landed on our Xperia Z5

FW is 32.1.A.1.163, so it contains a lot of bugfixes with introduction of MM 6 Android

Right now, is rolling for different models and on different countries so in few hours, or in one or two day, it will be on your phone, unless u're on a branded-operator phone where u should wait more days to come

So, 7th March was right as we expected based on TWITTER INFO by Sony Xperia GB Winking_Face

More news to come !

Has anyone in the UK had a notification that Marshmallow is ready?

For all those who have downloaded MM, what are your thoughts on battery life? Is it better, worse or the same?

Battery STAMINA Mode has been replaced with Google’s Doze and App Standby?
Battery STAMINA Mode provides a smart solution for managing power consumption, as does the combination of Doze and App Standby - so you can still enjoy using your device for longer with optimised battery life.
Doze intelligently regulates power consumption when the device is in standby, when the screen is off. App Standby further improves battery life by reducing the activity and data access of apps running in the background.
Because of the similarities - and as Doze and App Standby are integrated directly into Android 6.0 - we decided to remove Battery STAMINA Mode in this particular upgrade to ensure users can enjoy the same experience, without compromising on memory or processing power.

Is this the end for Sony’s Battery STAMINA Mode?
We can’t comment on the future of Battery STAMINA Mode, but as we know battery life is one of the major user smartphone pain points, we continue to develop bleeding-edge power consumption and saving solutions

Same here, @DJSAT2. Mine is an unlocked/unbranded Z5 and I haven't had a notification yet. The only thing in my software update is Amazon Shopping(!).

I guess the big question i have and the only issue with the z5 that bugged me is:

1) Has the cemara quality improved? Since it was just horrible in 5.1 as compared to other phone

2) Have they unlocked it so you can use 3rd party apps like Camera FV5 and Camera 360 and not be restricted

Does anybody know when the update will arrive to the Z5 UK Open Market edition?

Here is a small video relating to touch screen issue with MM. In video i am only scrolling not clicking the links and still phone selects them. Video doesnt show unresponsive bottom nav bar, but that happens also.

google drive link. (61mb and abt 25sec)

i use also panzerglass but that i have used earlier without any problem.

That looks just like it was when it appeared on the white version of Nordic Z5 Compact. The issue was solved with a firmware update, but it seems that it has returned after the MM update. This is a serious problem.

Haven't faced this issue yet on my white Z5C after the MM update, but I quess it is just a matter of time. Btw are you still using the Nova-launcher while doing that video?

No, that was on sony's default launcher. Nova is still installed but not default launcher.

Everyone asking about UK, if you have SIM free like me (Z5 Compact - About->Diagnostics->Facts->Customisation:1298-5497 R11B) then this is listed as "Customized UK" on https://xpericheck.com/device/E5823, and although Vodafone/o2/Virgin have all been released, the SIM free has not. I've seen this before, it's almost as if the SIM free gets released once all the other carrier variants are lreleased, which half negates the benefit of buying SIM free, it always used to get updates first, now it appears to be last 😕

Yes I found this on a few updates on my previous Z3 and now Z5, SIM-free seems to end up getting software last.  I thought for a big OS update like this they might get the SIM-free versions out quicker/first - but i guess not 😕
