Hello Everyone and Sony Team.
Firstly, I want to give a special thank to Sony Mobile Team who kept their promising to update Android 6 for Xperia C4 and C5 series.
After several days of using this version, I can say it is very good update version. However, there are some issues remaining which I want to ask here :
1. It is only 1.6G of RAM. After installing some basic apps, it has only 190M of memory. I must disable some apps to extend RAM. Then where is 400M of RAM missing?
2. Stamina mode is not useful. I cannot use during the day like Stamina on Android 5.1. If I enable it, a fixed notification bar always appear and it is unable to remove. And effects is disabled while Stamina is activated. I want to ask: How to turn on Stamina but keep effects (open apps, close app., etc).
3. Battery on Sleep mode is excellent but it is not optimized when using.
After disable almost apps, turn off some wifi features and app usage permission I have statistics about Battery consumption:
- Phone Idle: 36%
- Screen: 45%
- Wifi: 2%
- Cell standby: 2%.
I do not know why I used almost Chrome and Slither.IO game but I do not find these apps in Battery consumption? What is Phone Idle?
4. I found an app named is MTKLogger. Is it keylogger? I do not know what is this but it is safe?
5. I found com.facebook.appmanager is built as default app and impossible to remove.
You have agreements with Facebook? I have never used Facebook then it is not allowed by Sony users when you integrated any third party apps as default apps.
Hey Sony, please explain why you integrated the third party app which misappropriates RAM.
We will discuss this issue on XDA soon.
Thank you for taking time to read my article.
Pictures are still in moderation so I can't see exactly the issues however I can give you few answers to your questions:
1) Missing 400mb of ram? That's normal, it's used by the SOC for GPU ram, sensors and other devices.
2) The new Stamina is different, imagine it as a stripped down version of it to avoid conflicts with Doze Mode. Doze Mode is ways much better than stamina but people requested it back...
3) Idle mode usage is too high, you may want to perform a software repair as it means that when the phone was unused the system was using power, probably there are not optimized apps running on the background, you may have poor signal or other conflicts in place.
4)MTK logger is fine, not a key logger. MTK is the brand of the soc. The logger is used just to maintain crash logs and send them to Sony for telemetry/diagnosis/feedbacks. You can opt-out to that but the logger will keep running in the background. Still totally safe.
5) The Facebook thing is just an "helper" used by the main Facebook app. You should be able to disable it, but if one day you will decide to use Facebook then you won't be able to receive some updates and notifications. Could be also a legacy app from 5.1 that remained installed after the upgrade. Again, a software repair may remove it.
As soon as the images will be available I'll comment better.
Hi YoGem. Thank for your answer but
I do not agree with your opinion for some reasons:
2. People requested Stamina back but it is not useful. At least Sony should make it great as version in Android 5.1, even better. Why they can brought an uncompleted version to their user?
I understand Sony must working hard to bring Android 6 to many device series and I appriciate hightly their affort.
However, It is better if they can update a patch for Stamina. I had read a thread why Sony did not bring Stamina in Android 6 and known that Doze is exact version of Stamina in Android 5.1 but they decided to make a new version of Stamina under pressure from Sony user. It is difficult deccesion. A patch is neccesary, I think.
3. I see some phones on Android 6 of other brands and realized that they still show app details about battery consumption while my phone on Android 6 show only:
- Phone Idle. After several searching, I know it is phone in sleep mode but I think it is not right in my phone. My phone spend about 2% in Sleep mode because I tried to use phone from 100% to 14% for testing.
- Screen.
- Wifi.
4. I found it always run in system tray and I do not trust this app. However, I found the way to disable it. Sony should explain reason in details about this app to convince Sony users that they do not track people information.
5. I hope it will be removed in next repair if possible.
I expect an update if possible. I am not sure because It is a mid-range device.
Thanks.
Thanks.
