Android 5.1 Update lag.

I have the z3 compact, and it upgraded just fine. Although, the messaging app started giving me this annoying boolean error after i received EVERY SINGLE TEXT MESSAGE. So I backed up and restored and did a factory reset and it fixed that. 

    Now, can someone tell me how to fix the amazing amount of lag in the messaging? It is so annoying. 

 This is honestly the worst phone I've ever had and I'm switching to iphone in a few months but I want to make this phone bearable until that time.  So if anyone knows how to fix the lag it would be nice.

Do you have a LOT of messages stored on the app?

No, I thought that might have been it too and I deleted them.  Still lags 😞

Could you find solution to this problem. Cuz I updated to 5.1.1 few days back and facing same issue. Along with super fast battery drain and lag in contacts.
