Android 4.4 Kit Kat

This was once sony's flagship phone....i bought it in India around dec2012 and its been only an year. When i bought it,it was the high end phone here meaning there was no better sony xperia. And in just a year my expensive phone is said to not get a kit kat update because a 1.5Ghz dual core is more than enough to run kit kat. This is really bad.Last month i even bought an Xperia C for my mother.I am stopping buying from sony if this is the case.Nexus would be the better choice. Why clutter up my android with useless sony crapware without any updates when i can use the pure android with constant streaming updates.

Hi!

I just signed the petition "Qualcomm Mobile and Computing (QMC): Qualcomm decided to stop any further Snapdragon S3 chipset support&development and not to make kernel updates to provide compability for Android 4.2.2 and newer." on Change.org.

It's important. Will you sign it too? Here's the link:

Please sign it and we will get all the updaes and also share it so that more people will sign it.

Thanks!

I doubt it will work, Qualcomm just announced a new Chipset 805

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/qualcomm-technologies-announces-next-generation-qualcomm-sna...

So that leave the S3 many many generations behind.

The Xperia S/SL/Acro S MSM8260 CPU was from Q3 2010

The Xperia Ion's Q1 2011  APQ8060

Both Snapdragon S3

Then we have Snapdragon S4

Snapdragon S4

Snapdragon S4 Plus

Snapdragon S4 Pro

Then Snapdragon 200, 400 (don't  mind this 2)

Snapdragon 600

Snapdragon 800

Snapdragon 805

It has to do with Qualcomm not supporting the CPU

Sony stops developing for ion because its a flop and runs on a outdated phone
sony only focus on flagships and best selling devices
even they are not considering xperia m till now and when time come for support it become outdated
