Android 4.2.2 Bluetooth 4

Although I manage to pair my phone with my car Bluetooth system it does not connect. The car is brand new so it shouldn't be an issue.

My phone Xperia L has hardware for Bluetooth 4 but does the software Android 4.2.2 enables the full use?

I came across several comments that hardware enabled BT4 phones with 4.2 versions of Android have difficulties with new BT devices.

How can I solve this? Do I have (can?) to update to Android 4.3?

It is not that simply unfortunately. Before doing anything else I would first advise checking with the carkit manufacturer of the carkit to ensure that it is listed as compatible with your handset or at least that Android verison.

The only Info that I managed to get was that the system VW Discover Navigation has Bluetooth connection for phone and media (HFP, A2DP *, AVRCP **)

Don't say the versions of the protocols though.

What hapens is that Im able to pair perfectly but then the when i try to use it doesnt connect with the device.

Is there anything I can try out?
