Always booting into safe mode

Always booting into safe mode

Since 2 weeks back, whenever I used to reboot my phone, it used to automatically go into Safe Mode. This has happened several times. After 15-20 re-tries, it used to boot into Normal mode.

Since today, it is not even going into Normal mode at all after so many reboots.

I have not recently installed any app due to which this might be happening.

I am using the JB 4.1.2 build 15.1.A.1.9(OS version which came out of box when I had bought the phone last November) and still want to use this same version. Don't want to upgrade due to lots of bugs and decrease in battery life issues reported on this forum due to the latest 4.3 builds.

Please help.

Check if there's anything pressing on the volume button

If that doesn't work then repair your phone with PCC

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

I checked that, nothing that sort of. Even removed back cover and tried, but still booting into safe mode.

When I am using PCC< it is saying that it will upgrade to 15.4.A.1.9.

I want to stay on 15.1.A.1.9. Any solution?

Instead of doing PCC, I went to the Sony service centre to get it rectified. After 3 days, they informed me that they tried loading the latest firmware and with it too it is going into safe mode. They said they needed to replace motherboard and will cost Rs.5000 since it just went out of waranty.

Took back my mobile as the retail price of this phone is Rs.9200-9500. And with motherboard costing Rs.5000, makes no sense to invest more in this phone. Better to invest that money in a new phone and this time not buying a Sony phone. This was my first Sony phone and will be last phone from Sony.

Adios Sony.
