allow updates when using my phone as modem

Hi! I have xperia mini and i'm trying to update. The problem is, i only have wifi to go online. I found this option 'allow updates when using my phone as modem' in PC COMPANION, checked it but it still wont work. What is the problem?

afaik, the option meant if you allow the PC companioon to update the program itself if you use the phone as modem.

thank you. i visited a friend and did the update there.

btw, just now I figured out that you can use both SD card and phone as modem only with the companion installed, which without it wasnt possible.

you can't use your phone as a modem to update the same phone

actually there are otherways your phone can be used as modem or share internet to your pc/laptop.

there is of course the USB teethering, hotspot, or you can create manually a dial up connection via the network settings in windows ( though its called "dial up" the speed would depend on your networks data speed)
