ALL my notes disapperad - in spite of backup - after upgrading to Android 2.1

Hi,

My problem is something I discoverd a lot of people share. After upgrading my Xperia X10 mini pro all my notes disappeard even though I did a back-up. I had(hopefully still have somewhere) a lot of important information stored there. This topic has already been issued at this as well as other forums, without any reasonable solution. My notes were stored in Notes(anteckningar in swedish) which is an original feature of the phones software.

Is it really impossible to retreive them anyhow? Arn't there a way to wind time backwards and undo the upgrade?

Does anyone know where and in which format Notes files information is stored? Are they saved at the SD card?

Are there any company or software that could retrieve them?

My idea is that the information or traces of the information must be somewhere in my phone hence it must be possible to retrieve it?

what if you download the note app again from the market?

Hi, I am not sure what app you are using, but you need to remember the name of the app. Some Note apps stored their data in the phone memory and have the option to back them up in the SD Card (not sure yours has that function and whether you did that if it has). Have a look at Android Market, see if you can find it. You mentioned you did a backup, are you referring to phone memory backup or Note app backup?

Another advice, since it is a pre-installed app by SE, I think you should check with SE on this matter, see if they are able to help you. Of course if you can remember the developer of the app (slim chance), you can email them for solution.

well i used note everything application..

and i backed up my notes in my xperia arc.. but they were never backed up..

all the notes were stored in the phone database.. and as soon as i uninstalled the app , they were removed for ever,,

i contacted the develepor but he said nothing can be done now..

and yes how did you backed up your notes..?? in the application itself..??

notes are backe up as .txt files ( default )

so download file expert from android market and search for .txt

it will search all the sd card and will tell you if the files exist or not...

first tell us the notes application and backup application you used..

Well the application Notes is an original feature of my X10 Mini Pro and after I upgraded to Android 2.1 the application was still there, except ALL my notes..

I suppose the last chance is to contact SE? I will at least search for the Notes program in the update ought to find them if they are there...

Unfortunately as the note application is not a generic application provided by ourselves this was most likely an add-on provided specific to your networks version of the firmware. With this being the case this application is not part of our standard back up feature.
