Alarm - Sound Picker

When I tried to change alarm tone then tone is not ringing. previously it was working not I don't know why tone is not ringing after selection.

I just tried to set different songs from different locations ( Internet memory and SD card) to set as alarm sound and everything worked finr.

Did you try to set back the default ringtone again to see if it works ?

Also If your phone is in silent mode, make sure you mark "Alarm in silent mode" in alarm settings.

Try to select some other ringtone in alarm sound.

Could you give more deatils regarding what sound you're trying to set as alarm ?

Try settings-apps-all,tap on 3 dots and reset app preferences. Set another alarm tone.

Thank you, Nabeel and Alexdon. I tired your solution but it's not working for sound picker. I also did it by clear defaults then I found 3 options to play sound file while selecting alarm tone. 1)file commander 2)Media Storage 3) Sound picker. The third one is not working for me. Sorry I forgot to mention my device. It is Xperia ZR. It tired all option but still Sound picker does't play sound file.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).
