Go to settings-apps-all,clock and alarms, force stop and clear data. Restart.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I'll need to reinstal the 'dock clock' app to test as I'd given up & started using the alarm on my Garmin smart watch instead 🙂
Bit I'll definitely give it a go.

Ok, its 'sort-of' resolved.
After a phone reset, a delete & reinstall for the dock-clock app & a couple of tests, I have found the problem.
Since the latest software upgrade ( android 5.0.2 ) when the alarm sounds & the phone is 'asleep' ( regardless of whether its docked or not )
stopping the alarm sound is now a two-stage process.
1) Press the small white 'notification' at the top of the screen
2) Turn off the alarm using the 'slider'
So it works.
But its a pretty rotten 'user experience'.
At 6am, having been woken-up by the alarm, I have to be able ( without glasses ) to read a tiny message and respond with a finger press & only then can I turn off the alarm using the slider.
I expected to be able to turn off the alarm 'notification' but have not been able to find such a setting.
It would be great to know if there is indeed a method of doing that so the alarm merely brings-up a 'slider' & the 'notification' doesnt appear.
Cheers
Mike
