I have x10, my problem:
When it was 1.6 the caller’s picture that appears when somebody call me it was very good
But after I updated to 2.1, the resolution became very bad, I changed the pictures with new one, but still same
Is there a solution?
thank you
Same problem with my X10 in India post the Android 2.1 update - I presume this has been done to save space by using low res pics for contacts. Not yet tried to find a solution...awaiting something from some of our friends using the handset and facing the same problem.
Synchronizing the contacts to online media like gmail and SE has this problem of low resolution. The only remedy is to reload the images from your image folder if you have it.
As a precautionary, you can always backup your contacts with images in SD Card and then restore it back, and it does not pixelates.
Hi,
I tried backing the Contacts in my SD card but faced the low res pictures after the update.
comparing with online sync, restoring backup from SD has better resolution. In short, contact resolution is reduce during backup process.
that was correct when it was 1.6
but after updating to 2.1 , there is no diffrent either you restore it from online , or take a new photo by camera, the resolution same ( low)
thanks 4 all , still no correct answer , thank you 4 help
Actually it's not because you updated to v2.1 even if you're v1.6, if you backup and restore phone contacts, resolution will be reduced. Simple as that.
Nope! That is not true!!
I've used Backup and Restore in 1.6 many many times and didn't face that problem. The contact pictures are preserved at their original size (the size I set them in) and I never had to re-adjust them. But with 2.1 the story is different. After restore the contact picture is blur and when you re-adjust them by modifying and selecting the picture again, they still look blur. I got no clue where this goes wrong !!!
You are right, it will be low resolution if you restore it from online even in 1.6
But I am talking about even if you take new picture in 2.1 it will be low resolution , Simple as that
