adding photo to a contact issue

I have the latest firmware update (KK 14.3.A.0.757 for Central Europe R1C).

Today I tried to add a photo to one of my contacts (all my photos are stored on SD Card) and I failed because everytime a photo is rotated 90 degrees left or right.

Generally it has to be some kind of bug, at least in my case.

After choosing a photo I'd like to add I have to wait 7-10 sec. to start app to crop a photo :smileyangry:. When it finally starts a photo is rotated 90 degrees left or right - always. It doesn't matter if it is an old photo from my previeous phone (Xperia Arc S) or freshly taken with Z1 Compact. I can crop a photo and it is added to a contact but it is still rotated.

On previous update (KK 0.681) I didn't experience such things. No 7-10 sec waiting for cropping app or rotated photo problem.

I did 'phone repair' twice. First with PCC and second with SUS. Nothing has helped.

Has anyone of you been experiencing this kind of problem?

Got back to 0.681 and adding a photo works as should be.

I've got exactly the same issue.... but then again, I have so many issues with the sony 'experience'.  I had tried to crop the photo from google photos but it refused to save the edit and then thought whooppee when I could crop  from the gallery but the photo refuses to rotate properly for me.

I did find one way to avoid the rotation!  I opened up the album to view the photo I  wanted and clicked on the three 'settings' boxes at the top right  and then clicked on ' use as'   and then ' contact'.   I cropped the photo and that seemed to work - bit convoluted if you ask me!  I couldn't find a way to do starting from the contacts!

Hi.

I know that the bug I'm about to describe has been reported in the past, but I haven't seen any solution yet.

When I select a photo for a contact, if the photo is a portrait one, it's rotated in landscape in the cropping screen, and the cropped picture is rotated too of course. This is really frustrating because you actually can't use portrait photos for contacts, And this kind of photos are the most practical and mostly used for contacts!

So is there going to be a solution by Sony?
