adding extra e mail accounts

I have recently changed from an old BlackBerry to a new xperia z3 compact and am, so far, very disappointed.  Can anyone help me at an extra e mail account.  I have all the setting but it just keeps say "server does not support the authentication method" or similar.  Any ideas?

Hi!

Which app are you using? Is that normal Mail application or Gmail (from few days it supports multiple accounts from different vendors).

If default e-mail app what is the type of account you try to add? Is that Exchange or other type of service?

We don't need your credentials but need at least some information about what you are trying to accomplish.

I've been able to succesfully add a new account in Mail. However when adding a fifth account, the mail app freezes and seems to keep fetching mail. None of the messages is displayed and nothing seems to work, until I remove a fifth account. It is not an issue with the account itself, according to my tests it really is the account added after having added four.

I'm seriously considering to remove the Sony Mail App now to be replaced by something else.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Does your fifth account contain a very large number of emails? When you add the account you have an option for how many days to sync, make sure to not select an interval that contains a very large number of emails.

If this is not the cause, does this account work in other clients like K9 Mail from Google Play?

Hi Rickard,

I've set the sync period to just 30 days, but even when the mailboxes are empty, it will not continue. Even when restarting the mailapp or entire phone.

The workaround I've found is this: Do not sync at all when adding an account. The manual sync works without any issue.

The problem returns once I set a fifth account to auto-sync.

Hope this helps in finding the issue. I've found my workaround, but the issue is still present.

So it's not a specific account that casues this issue? It happens when you add a 5th account, regardless of in which order you add them?
