Accessing extensions

On my xperia Sola, when connected to a switchboard and prompted to "Press 1, press 2 etc," pressing the number does not register on the switchboard so nothing happens. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

Do you know which standard the switchboard follows? Is it an ordinary 3GPP switchboard?

You could try calling your voice mail or network operator to test if its a problem with the phone or not.
