About the camera

I just would like to know if someone has the same problem than me.

Sony talks a lot about the 13Mpx Exmor R camera in this phone, but I realize that the pictures that I take, even outside in a sunny day, has very very low quality.

I don't understand how a 13Mpx camera only gives a 3Mb picture (other phones with only 5Mpx camera, gives better quality, for example my old iphone 4). My pictures on the Xperia T has very low quality (even shooting at 13Mpx), a lot of noise and a very poor resolution. Hasn't the pictures a lot of JPG compression???

I wonder if it's just me or anybody else has the same problem.

I tried to search on the phone some option to increase the quality, but I am unable to find it.

Is there any patch from Sony to fix this problem?. I won't believe that this camera only may offer this poor pictures.

Sorry, i don't know how to reduce the images, but also you can see the noise.

Now I can see them.

They really looks terrible... as mine... amazing to see the details... 50 iso and high shutter speed, same as mine... and this is the result...

I won't imagine a 400iso with a lower shutter speed...

What a disgrace of a camera. The pictures looks more as an 1.3 or 2Mpx camera.

Now... what do you have to say about, Sony????... does the pictures that elotroyo and me posted here looks well to you?...

I haven't had time to play around with my TL's camera much but which settings are you using?

check if you get issues like this as I did with my Xperia S, I still see this on the TL but I need to snap more pictures to see the issues

Xperia S picture quality, the pictures look amazing on the S's screen but washed out on a regular LCD/LED or HD TV/Screen

The problem is not my 22" Full Hd Screen.

I can see pperfectly well pictures taken with my old phones, and the ones of this Xperia T looks terrible. It is the camera itself.

No matter how I try to shoot, there is always a bad picture at the end... 100iso, multi point focus/light, programs, sunny day, cloudy day, inside, night, 13Mpx, 10Mpx, 2Mpx... etc. Knowing the very bad results of sony camera program, I even purchased  some camera applications... there is no way to get anything well... as I am tired to say, if the pictures are ultra compressed, and the JPG compression it's done the worst possible way, then nomatter whayt you do or purchase, the picture will look like hell.

No matter what you do, you will get an ultra-low quality picture... LOTS of noise, over exposed zones, very low sharpness (due to the noise)... etc.

Talking about the camera, there's another question that I'd like to do... WHERE is the 3D option???...

One of the promises of this phone is the chance of making 3D pictures and you know... there are  and it's not the first time I read in internet about people complaining about this matter... they cannot do 3D pictures AND/OR the chance of making them is totally gone.

try this

turn on your Bravia engine on and brightness set to 100% open any picture take a screenshot of the picture

now turn off the Bravia Engine and take a screenshot of the same picture

now post both screenshots here and also the picture as it is stored in your phone here (so it will be a total of 3 pictures)

The 3D camera feature not being present is being investigated. It seems that it got lost in the .195 update but I have forwarded this so it will probably be back in next software update. Sorry for this inconvenience.
