So Sony you released ICS .453 6 months ago for UK SIM free Xperia S and 6 months later we (and presumably anyone else running .453) are still stuck with the same bugs.
I understand it must be a complex task to release a 100% bug free firmware and indeed I guess many of us understand that slight annoyances are going to be present but when no attempt is made to rectify basic functions such as not being able to end a call you have to understand the frustrations users of your hardware show.
Again I reiterate that the Xperia S is a beautiful piece of hardware, I still love the phone its self to little bits but the customer service and support offered by Sony has been diabolical and has unfortunately put me off every buying a Sony handset again.
I know this will fall on deaf ears, you already have my money so let us be honest why would you care, I also know I sound like a stuck record but I just cannot convey how let down I feel.
MrBelter, you have been a champion for this phone all this time and they still ignore you! This amazes me greatly!
From my observations on this forum, it would appear that various operators are reporting bugs to Sony, no doubt reported to them by there customers and they get dealt with. Those of us with sim free handsets such as 1257-3114 can only report direct to Sony and we do through this forum. The difference is that we are ignored! I only got a sim free phone so that I would be amongst the first to get new updates, I thought that is how it worked!
I wouldn't be too downhearted. I'm with O2 and have 6.1.A.2.45 installed, still waiting on .55
To be honest, I think the update process from Sony and the carriers is pathetic. I know these things take time but come on, surely it should be weeks not months.
As I've stated elsewhere and I'll say it again, in my opinion Sony have released too many phones which has left them stretched and unable to support them all to a decent level.
The latest models seem to get the quickest updates, until a new model is released then it slides down the priority list.
Think I'll be looking as Samsung or Nexus next.
Best thing is if my screen woke up after a call would be happy and i would shut up, jelly bean would be nice but im not that bothered.
I think I would look at Nexus next time, given the price of the Nexus 4 and the fact it will be updated! That said, I have been thinking getting a Nexus 7 and a Nokia Asha 201 (or whatever it is).
Aye the Nexus 4 will be my next phone, i have been waiting to see if they were having any major problems with them before making the jump, something i wished i had done with the Xperia S but once burned and all that.
Obviosuly no one knows what on earth is going on when it comes to the Xperia S
The latest version of software is currently rolling out, 6.1.A.2.45, hopefully you will receive this shortly - Aimee.
I believe after Motorola, HTC, Samsung & LG, Sony will be next to possibly manufacture the next Nexus phone, possibly for Key Lime Pie. Of course this is just rumours but I will consider staying with Sony if this comes true as they produce better handsets.
