I upgraded recently and have found an issue with the Sony implementation of Lollipop... The "Call barring" settings / function is incompatible with the network (according to their 2nd level tech support team). I am unable to make / receive international calls which means when I am abroad my phone is nearly useless. There is no block placed by my operator (in fact it worked fine before the upgrade)... Call \ Call barring settings menu shows : -> Outgoing internation roaming = Enabled ... if I try to change it, after entering my PIN2 code, I receive the error message "Unexpected response from network" even after confirming the PIN with my network. I understand there is a similar issue with the Samsung implementation. Any feedback will be much appreciated - I hope this can be patched soon!
Sorry to hear that you have issues with call barring.
It's not something i've heard of and it does sound strange that this would be caused by the phone. The call barring settings are network settings in your subscription, not settings in the phone (but the phone has settings that allows you to change them in the network and the values displayed there are retrieved from the network). If you don't receive these calls it means that they are in fact barred in the network (not the phone). "Unexpected response from network" usually means that your operator is not allowing you to change them.
I would recommend that you contact your operator again in this case. If they can't find any issue on their end i would recommend that you try the phone with another SIM card and see if the issue remains.
