Last night i noticed the following behavior of Xperia SP (updated to 4.3):
1. My Xperia SP was on, and I connected the USB cable (plugged to a wall socket) to start charging the battery. After a while, I checked the battery status and it was over 90% (green LED light at the botton of the phone and screen indicator showed 91%)
2. I turned off the mobile phone and left it charging to 100%
3. The LED indicator was red instead of green, until I pressed the power button once to see the battery indicator (phone was off all the time and in that case the mobile phone shows a picture of a battery with an indicator bar inside) after a minute. After I pressed the power button again, the LED indicator on the phone botton turned green but there was no battery picture on the screen
4. I pressed the power button several times and only the backlight of the screen was on without showing the battery picture and the level of its capacity.
It never happened while I was using 4.1.2.
very bugy update very disappointed
I still haven't faced a single bug in this update...
I have recommended few points on a different thread which can be considered before updating...
Except that volume bar, which was sorted out after changing to original theme and restarting my phone..
I faced another problem right after the update to 4.3. It is not easy to describe what happened, so, please bare with me.
Xperia launcher offers total of 5 screens on which you can store shortcuts to applications, use walkman, see weather report etc.
When you reach the first screen you can't proceed further left but you have to go in opposite direction until you reach the fifth screen. When you swipe the first screen left there is screen effect telling you that you reached the leftmost screen and that you can't proceed further. The same happens on the fifth and last screeen when you try go further right. At that moment, launcher shows you 1/6 of "another" screen and returns you to the last full screen. Well, this 1/6 showed some garbage until I changed the theme. Finally the bug stopped manifesting itself. It never happened with 4.1.2.
i have the same problem..... so many days of delay and sony.....
The charging bug is getting worse...
My Xperia SP is turned off and plugged in for battery charging. The charging begins and the picture of a battery with capacity indicator appears. If I press power button again, only the backlight is lit without showing the picture of the battery. 1 out of 10 attemps shows the picture of the battery.
Then I decided to power on mobile phone while still plugged in for charging. The phone booted up but the screen remained blank (without content), only the backlight was on. I unplugged the phone from the charger and didn't touch it for a few seconds until the screen turned off. Then I pressed the power button again and SIM PIN numerical keypad appeared.
There is definitely something wrong with the latest software in relation to the charging process.
If bugs keep on multiplying I will go back to 12.0.1.257 which is one of the older firmwares but it worked good for me.
No one has the same problem?
I re-installed the 4.3 by using SUS an hour ago, but the bug is still present. No battery icon displayed on the screen during the charging process when mobile phone is turned off.
I don't know when the phone battery is 100% full.
Yet another manifestation of the charging bug.
I connected the phone to the charger while the phone was switched on. After a while, the screen showed battery to be 99% full and I moved away from the phone to do something else. After 10 minutes or so I got back and saw that the LED indicator at the bottom of the phone turned red. I pressed the power button I realized that the phone switched off by itself. The battery indicator (battery icon with progress bar in it) showed that the battery was empty!
Finally, I switched on the phone and the battery indicator at the top of the screen showed that the battery was full.
I don't know what is happening with my phone, but I never encountered such problems with previous firmware.
I've just had the same exact problem. Phone seems to shut down automatically when charging is complete and it takes an awful while to start. On top of that, so many apps have been behaving erratically after 4.3 update. What the **bleep** is wrong with Sony, they delayed the release of JB 4.3 with the promise of fixing bugs only to deliver it with even bigger and more annoying bugs.
