3G network is lost after android 4.2.2 update

After android 4.2.2 update  3G network is lost.

Make sure you have mobile data enabled in your phone. Download new APN Internet settings under settings>  Xperia > Internet settings. Restart your phone.

I have the same issue of losing 3G after I upgraded my android to 4.2.2. The problem persists even after downloading the internet setting. I cross checked with service provider they confirmed the same. Kindly give me suggestions.

Strange. 

Make sure that you network mode is set on WCDMA/GSM under settings > more > mobile networks > network mode. 

Also delete the APN settings in the phone and add them manually. Contact your service provider to get the correct APN data. You find the APN settings under settings > more > mobile networks > access point name. 

Tap on your APN setting > menu button > delete APN. Press the menu button again and add APN to create a new APN setting.

Just call your provider and ask them to send you internet settings.

Don't use commonly way with your Xperia to get internet settings.And it's gone be just fine. Trust me.

Hi, I also have huge problems after the system upgrade to Android 4.2.2. last November.

When I leave home it switches to 3G and works well, but after several minutes of inactivity the 3G drops and doesn't reconnect again unless I restart my phone. When there is no 3G the data is not turned off and there definitely is 3G signal. Sometimes it shows 3G and it still doesn't work, but most of the times it only shows the phone network bars.

If I am using the internet all the time (e.g. Skype call), the internet connection is not lost and works well.

Stamina is not activated.

The mobile phone company insists it is not their fault.

I tried:

- Deleting APN and creating it again according to instructions from mobile phone company

- Factory reset

- Xperia Care repair

- Tried my SIM card in different phone - internet works fine

- other things I can't remember, but I will if you ask me.
