3 days old and rebooting constantly

My Xperia - L C2104  keeps rebooting on its own. It is only 3-4 days old! When I try to update the software I am not able to proceed beyond step 3 when the program asks me to press the volume key while plugging in the USB cable into the phone - when i do that, nothing happens. the program is unable to detect the phone at all. i have followed previous steps accurately of switching phone off for at least 30 seconds connecting the micro usb cable to a usb port on my pc.

Please advise asap - this is a brand new phone and i cannot even start using it.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your new phone. My advise you be to return this to the retailer, as they hopefully can replace it for you.
