Hello Folks,
Maybe someone can answer my question:
why does the Z not have 120fps video capturing support?
I think the Exmor RS is able to, or how can the Oppo Find 5 have this feature with the same camera chip?
Greetz, Fose
that's overkill
you don't need more than 24-30fps unless you want slow motion
Hey uliwooly,
not a real answer but thx anyway...
You were on the right track, i want SLOW MOTION!
Its a big matter for my next buy.

I doubt this option will be added by Sony, if I were you I would look for apps that will do that
So u mean its possible by hardware but not supported by the camera software?
mh find an app...seems really hopeless ^^
Thx, Fose
look for a burst mode app, also the Xperia Z has burst mode or look for an timelapse app
Mh thx for all the advice, i doubt these apps can use 120fps only because the exmor can...
So back to the roots, why does sony not implement this software feature if the hardware is able to?
Guess I can get this answer only from internal developers...
Thx anyway, Fose
you should contact Sony customer support also think about it, how many phones are capable of slow-mo video recording? it'll be a nice feature but I don't know how many users will take advantage of it
Yes of course it would be a gimmick, you are right!
But why should sony build and sheet a camera sensor with the ability of 120fps capturing if no one will be able to use it?
So the point is that the hardware already exists, the oppo proves it, why shall nobody profit from that, you know what i mean?
The only reason would be, that the z uses another exmor rs than the find 5, but i only know 3 versions of the exmor rs, and only one with 13.2MP. Where is the error?^^
thx for the lively discussion 😉

I would just adore this feature.
Though just having the sensor that is capable of it doesn't suffice. If it doesn't have the architecture to proces 120fps video, it's a no go, no matter what kind of app you install
I don't know if the Z is capable of doing this, but seriously, adding this would be like, sprinkles on the (already very good) cake
