Xperia XA1 Plus - How do I enable dark theme?

Hi I just got a new phone a XA1 Plus and would like to no how to set a dark theme I want the options and everything to be dark not this light grey that gives me eyestrain.

I saw a youtube video that says in android 7 you can set dev mode and then change theme to dark and I tried it but could not find the theme option.  When I go into theme there seems to be only a option to purchase other themes.

Are there any users here who have managed to theme there phone dark?

Developer preview version will be totally different from the final version you get. What I suggest is to find a dark theme on the Google Play Store (try searching for keywords like: Xperia Dark Theme).

I just tried a couple of themes on the play store and both did not effect the settings area I want the settings to be dark.

I'm not sure any theme will change the root system settings UI as it's is part of the android core and not the Sony UI.

The only way I knew of was in the system UI settings but I'm not sure it's even still there.
