XA1 Plus - Cannot Install App from any source aside from Google Play Store

For those who use the XA 1 Plus, have you guys and gals experienced being unable to install an application? A friend of mine recently forwarded an APK for me to use. However, the phone does not allow it to happen. I've already enabled installation from unknown source to no avail. I'm sure I'm using my main account and not the guest account I have. 

Does anyone know how to fix this? 

By the way, currently have an android 7.0.

Oh I forgot to mention, I've also tried to install several other applications but nothing happened. The error 

prompt says " Package Installer has stopped" so I doubt that it is just a device compatibility issue.

 You know this app share it, I've been able to download it awhile ago from Bluetooth then send all my apps from my other phone to this phone by using share it app it installed all apps then after a while it stopped installing why is that I've already enabled the unknown sources
