WiFi authentication on XA

Has anyone has a solution to the WiFi authentication problem. The issue occurs when the phone has been connected to the WiFi after a certain period of time and then it refuses to transmit data. Turning the phone WiFi off and on comes up with the authentication problem and the only cure is to restart the phone. Any offers?

No, I see the same recently on an Xperia XA as well. For me, the problem is fixed temporarily by restarting the phone. Enabling/disabling WIFI has no effect, and assigning a static IP has no effect. Forgetting/re-establishing the connection fails. Other devices can connect fine, and I have already replaced the wireless router once while troubleshooting (no improvement).

In case it was due to WIFI disabling during sleep (an option which is invisible in the XA settings UI), I checked the current settings by enabling developer options and running this:

$ adb shell settings list global | grep wifi

...

wifi_sleep_policy=2        (2 = always on)

So, it's supposedly set to a "safe" value.

I am having the same issues with my Experia XA losing the WiFi connection then refusing to reconnect with an authentication error. I have reset to factory settings and all was good for two days then it started to lose connection again so that didn't fix it. The only way to get it to work again is to restart the phone or do a network settings reset, then it will work for a while sometimes some hours but it can also only work for a few minutes.

Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue?

I have the same problem on every wifi AP I use at home and at work. 1 hidden and 2 not hidden AP, all with WPA2 PSK. Build: 33.3.A.1.97 (can't update, it's locked by SP)

The progress from today morning:

  1. Turned off airplane mode in the morning. The phone connected to my WIFI router. All my emails arrived, I checked them, the I put the phone to standby.
  2. A few minutes (and a coffee) later, I tried to check Facebook. Tap on a post, chrome opened, but the page was not loaded. The WIFI icon in the status bar showed everything OK (no exclamation mark on it). I turned off WIFI, the page loaded on mobile network. I turned WIFI on, but it could't connect to my router. I didn't restart the phone, to check if it connect to the work network.
  3. I arrived to work, and try to connect to the router. Same problem, I see the AP in the list, but can't connect. After restarting the phone, it works.

This is a very disappointing issue, please fix it ASAP. We can't use WIFI on the phone, becouse it drops network without sign, so no emails arrrive until the user notice that there's no network - not so good if someone use the phone for work. This is my second Xperia, I had issues with my Z3 Compact, too...not sure I buy another phone from Sony. I use Sony broadcast devices at work, they are the best of all, but it seems like consumer electronics is something that Sony can't do right.
