System UI has stopped

My phone switches off sometimes on its on saying unfortunately the IU System has stopped, has anyone experienced such?

I have purchased Sony XA1 Ultra just a day before yesterday (06 Aug'17). I have observed that while unlocking sometimes handset doesn't works. It gives pop-up UI has stopped working and also gives 2 options - Wait & Close. I have to lock unlock multiple times to get it correct.

Can you please help with the above.

I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

I have been getting this same message and the phone locks up and shuts down. The volume has become terrible and now I have a black burn mark on my screen. I've spoken to customer service and they want me to send it to them but there's a 14 day wait or longer to get it back, I'm disabled and cannot be without a phone for that length of time. There must be something that can be done regarding this issue. I purchased this phone from best buy and although it's still under the manufacturer warranty they won't exchange it and I'm thoroughly pissed. We have been Sony customers for a long time but I'm starting to get a bad taste in my mouth
