Store photos SD card only with storing on internal memory of phone

I bought a 64 "Gig" SD card to free up space on my phone. If I put a photo directly onto the SD card, somehow it winds up taking space up on my internal storage. How do I store a bunch of photos on the SD card only? So that I don't use much internal storage of phone.

1)check settings for photos save locations

2)format SD card and try again

3)buy HI SPEED Micro SD XC Class 10 UHS-1 card (probably does not allow to save photos because your SD too slow)

have you tried to transfer the photos via Xperia Companion or your PC?

Yes, things went smooth, but if I delete photo from internal storage it automatically deletes it from "SD" card. I need it to remain on "SD" card even though it is deleted from internal storage. I'm doing some updates on my laptop that may straighten out the problem, and I will try your suggestion again.
