My partner has just gotten a new Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra and updated the handset immediately with a system update to O/S Oreo and is unable to send text messages, but she CAN receive texts and send and receive phone calls.
She is not tech savvy and asked me to look at the phone and I followed the details at https://support.sonymobile.com/gb/xperiaxaultra/faq/apps-&-settings/02310188062479649013b85478398007... to find the SMSC number , refresh it and then pressed Update but the phone still won’t send any SMS messages. Even after the handset was rebooted.
Can anyone please advise on how to fix this issue?
