Smart Lock - Trusted Places does not seem to work reliably
The Smart Lock for Trusted places seemed to have stopped working. It worked for a few times and then off and on and now off altogether. I have "Location" turned on.
Fairly accrurate with reasonable error tolerance I presume. We have a LG-G6 as well and it has absolutely no problems on this account and it is on the same carrier.
So this specific issue may or may not be related to Sony hardware specifically. One of my testing phones "moto g6" and Sony G3223 have the same problem. Basically the best workaround is to force the os to update location in a different manner. The best fix (and on the Xperia it's about an 80-90% improvement) is under the smart lock settings : locations disable home and delete all other locations if entered. Add a new location but try to move the center point so that the circle is well within your home area but does not try to generate an address. If you can try to force a gps coordinate instead. You can also add a few points around as well. In my case I have 3 "sweet spots" around my property which solved this problem on my G3223. Due to a dense neighborhood it took several tries since it kept using the closest address.
