Where does one go to complain about the inaccurate and incomplete responses to customer questions about the XA1 Ultra product?
Members of this forum have asked repeatedly if VoLTE and WiFi calling are supported on T-Mobile USA. These are not matters of philosophy nor of opinion, but the moderators act as if T-Mobile needs to do something magical with the provisioning at their end, or sends forum members off to scour the developer's documentation for an unrelated device. The device I have and most likely sold into the US market is G3223.
1) My experience is that those features are not supported.
2) The information one can find at http://www.spectrumgateway.com/compatible-phones would indicate that Sony and their retail partners are knowingly selling devices into the US marketplace as "unlocked" and "compatible with" US carriers such as TMO US knowing fully-well that they did not make the effort to certify these capabilities with T-Mobile.
3) Furthermore, my experience is also that T-Mobile US has no intention of troubleshooting connectivity issues with their network since they know the problem is at Sony's end in that neither the firmware nor software will permit these features to be enjoyed.
If T-Mobile US were looking after their customers, they would insist that Sony either certify the devices or cease from selling them in this country as "compatible with" T-Mobile US.
Class-action, anyone?

Literally in the first paragraph.
Volte is only available on operator customised firmwares.
It's within the support documentation, sure, but it doesn't mention that, without VoLTE service your phone is essentially a brick.

The communications to the community implies that VoLTE is something that is T-Mo's responsibility to turn on for the phone. I think that is a disingenuous response. T-Mo is not going to make these phones VoLTE capable nor is it going to enable WiFi calling. T-Mobile's requirements and specifications were public knowledge for years before these phones were released and Sony did not certify them nor did it stop the retail channel from selling them as "compatible" with T-Mo as a carrier.
