If you receive ads when you are using the Google Chrome application, it could be because you have open tabs that contain ads. Do note though that some websites will show ads, and there is nothing wrong with that, as that is how they make money so they can continue to run the website, just like applications.
To start with, open up the Google Chrome application and tap the small square with a number on it, to the right of the URL field/bar > tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > Close all tabs.
