I have owned my Ultra for just over a week now and love the screen, design and software. However, I do have one fairly major issue. The signal reception capabilities of this handset appear to be very poor. I live in a very good reception area for my network (Vodafone) yet the phone is only registering between -95 to -115 dbm signal strength. This means dropped calls and delayed texts. By contrast, my iPhone 7 registers -60 to -70 and my Samsung -65 to -75 (both strong and stable) so it is not the network or SIM.
Doing some research it appears I am not the only one to have noticed this. My question is therefore: is this a hardware or software issue with this handset?
All of this not helped by lack of the ability to switch to gsm/2g as a preferred band in the options (we have powerful 2g picocells at my place of work coupled with marvellous WiFi). This issue is making it hard for me to feel the love for this phone.
