Picture issues, some normal some black - Sony

So I've had an Xperia xa for months now with no issues. But for no obvious reason the pictures now are saved normally sometimes and saved as the annoying black screen at others. I've even had a video that worked fine, showed my daughter, phone went on to standby but the wasnt able to show my wife literally 5 minutes later. Any ideas?

Where are you saving the pictures/videos (internal storage or and SD card)?

Internal storage I think. How do I double check?

Open the camera > settings (gear icon) > more > Data storage

It was set to sd card.

Is there a way to get the black pictures back to the actual pictures that they were??

If they are corrupted I'm afraid no, which I think that's the case, a faulty SD card.
