Phone does not start, Companion does not work

Hey there,

this morning, my Xperia XA1 did something strange. Battery was very low (around 2 %) and before I could plug the power cable in, the phone went off. When I then plugged the power cable in, it began starting and then showed the usual white screen with the logo. Since it was still early in the morning, I did not bother, put the phone away and turned around for another hour of sleep.

When I woke up, I could not start my phone. I let it charge for most of the day but the red light (indicating charging) is still on. Still the phone will not start so I tried Xperia Companion.

I have to go for the "my device is not recognised"-option and then Companion tells me to unplug the phone, make sure it's off (no problem :P), press and hold the lower-volume-button and then connect it to the computer. After that nothing is happening, even after a few minutes.

Additionally, every few minutes I hear the "device is connecting"-sound followed by the "device disconnecting"-sound after around 30s.

What can I do? Slightly_frowning_Face

I am haveing very similar issues. I have had my phone, XA1 dual sim, for less than a week, it fine in UK for the first few days. I plugged it in to a charging point on a plane and it worked ok. When I disconnected it on landing the phone stopped working. I plugged it in overnight on arrival and the next day, yesterday, it worked ok. I plugged it in to charge again last night and today there is nothing. The red light is on but that is it - no charging indication, cannot connect to companion on PC and cannot reset?

Very dissappointed with this phone as I have had various other Xperias and never had issues.

Please help

Strange but true: In my case, the power cable was obviously broken. I did not try another one in the beginning because technically, the phone was still charging (red light on) but appearently, something was wrong. New cable - no more problems.
