Oreo update ruined my phone

One of the main app I use is Twilight, which red shift colors of the screen at night.

I've been using it flawlessly since I had my phone last year.

The oreo update not only rendered it non-fonctional and useless, it also changed the black android theme to a WHITE THEME.

Not only can't I use the phone like I did for the previous year, I have to deal with a horrible design choice I was not made aware of beforehand.

Right now I am angry at sony's lack informations regarding the update. If I had know there were compatibility issues with Twilight and that the update contained a updated WHITE THEME, I would  have NOT updated.

You can't restore an old version of Android either. I am stuck with this situation which makes me hate my device.

I feel like this phone is not my phone anymore.

Why would sony not inform customers of the potential issues following an update?

Can I have my phone restored to the version I bought it with?

Because it does not work as well as it did before the update.

What is sony's responsability in this?

I agree with you. My XA1 works worse adter update (camera, album, battery, apps issues). Before I have the amber light for night (same as twilight) in Xperia Action “goodnight”, but now I only can reduce the brightness. However, I don’t know what you mean with white theme. I’ve everything black in mine (i.e., clock, which was white before), and can select black theme in music and album, even I have a black background...
