Notification sounds

I keep on getting multiple notification sounds from different apps, countless times a day, when there are actually no notifications from the apps at that time at all

It happens on mine when I have the phone on silent and then, when I turn up the volume, all the notifications (that arrived during the time while the volume was down) suddenly beep.  It is the weirdest Android version ever.  I am on 8.0.0.

I don't have my phone on silent so I don't have your issue I'm afraid. 

I get multiple notification sounds, always in the same sequence, countless times a day, when there are actually no notifications coming thru.
