No sound / sound and sms notification.

Hello,

as in the subject from March 27. In my Xperia Xa2 there is no sound / sound and SMS notification vibration normally works on me, I also give notification but in the phone I have nothing until I look at the icon of the message I see that I got a text message. Until then everything was fine. I searched all settings is as it should be.

I believe I am having the same issue. At some point in recent weeks I am no longer receiving audible/vibrate alerts when a new text message arrives when the app is open and screen is on. If the screen is off or I'm on another app when a new message arrives I get the audible/vibrate alert.

This means that if I am in an ongoing conversation, but needing to multitask, I may miss the next incoming message.

Again, this is not how it worked up until a few weeks ago, something has changed. I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this, yet the "tech" at the carrier store tried to tell me this is the way its always been... I should expect no less of a response from them.

I want alerts at all times whether in app or not.

Not carrier locked. Android 8.0.0

I am having a similar issue but I'm on android 9.

I found an extra setting on my phone which sets a level of importance for message notifications. This setting needs to be on the most important setting, then my notification sound came back.
