Sorry to hear about that 

Can you start your phone in safe mode and see if it still happens? With it being random, try and leave the phone in safe mode as long as possible to see if the volume button will fail or not.

I did as you asked and it worked for certain time but since last wednesday after installing the lastest software upgrade the problem has disappeared and the volume key is functioning properly.
