Mic problems

[Quesrion]

Either receiving a call or making it myself, people cannot listen to me until I put the speaker on... Also, I can't record WhatsApp voice notes, but, I can record videos and status with sound!!! This problem really got my nerves! Can anybody please help me?

Hi @Quesrion, sorry to hear about.

Does the microphone work in the diagnostics test? There is a inbuilt test that you can find in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test, scroll down a bit and do the test for the microphone.

If it is not working in the test, try restarting your device in safe mode and do the same test again, so we can see if any of your downloaded applications are the cause of this behaviour.

Hello, I have the same problem, only my microphone does not work in recording movies and even in the test you describe

Hi @Jan20, very sorry to hear about this and I apologize for my late reply, I have been out of office.

Have you also tried the microphone while the device is rebooted in safe mode? If you haven't done that, I would recommend doing that, so we can make sure a downloaded application isn't the cause of this behaviour as they are temporarily disabled in safe mode.

Should there be no change in safe mode, the next step is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will reinstall the latest available software for your device and remove all data stored on the internal storage, so it is advised that you create a backup using Xperia Companion before you start with the repair!
