Jan fw update breaks Messagease Keyboard

I guess this is an informative post as much as a query... 

The most recent XA1 system update (Nougat, 4.4.15, build 40.0.A.6.189) breaks the Exideas Messagease keyboard app. The keyboard fails to display, leaving a blank input/entry space when a text input control is selected. This is persistent through phone reset, phone shutdown, and app reinstallation.

I'll reply to this post if I can find a workaround or rollback. I will appreciate any advice on system settings or relevant system changes that arose with this update and may be interfering. I have filed a bug with Exideas, of course, but need a working non-qwerty asap.

Yes, with the update all is good. 

The message with the update 12-Jan-18 says

Yep, the Exideas date change workaround and follow-up Google Play update both sorted this. Amazing fast - done overnight while I was sleeping 😃
