I'm sure I'm not alone when saying I've had it with this piece of crap XA1. Sony really needs to do better quality control testing before releasing phones and updates. I, like many of you, had the "can't use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the same time issue", which was resolved with the Oreo update. Now, I have the "Bluetooth and Wi-Fi don't connect every 3rd or 4th time, requiring a reboot or turning airplane mode on/off". I. Am. Done. Period.
So I bought a XA2 (H3123 - US version) from Amazon. It has since been returned but let me give you all a preview of what you can expect with the latest quality failure from Sony. First of all, Sony has made it so you cannot move apps to the SD card - even supported apps. There is no way to mount a SD card as internal storage, as in the XA1. After much research, this is not a limitation of Oreo. It is up to the manufacturer. So, 32GB is quite limiting when you cannot move any apps to the SD card. As for glitches, the Smart Lock feature didn't work at all. Well it works at first but then the whole Smart Lock setting screen goes blank after about 15 minutes of uptime. The most fun issue I had, though, was the phone freezing when the CPU started to work hard - such as when installing a lot of apps at once.
So between that crap, and the fact that it has the same camera as the XA1, don't bother with an upgrade. You may escape some of the XA1's demons, but you'll encounter the XA2's own issues - and we all know Sony is not quick to address these bugs. I have stuck with Sony mainly because of the dedicated camera shutter button (and good cameras in mid-range phones), but I am done with them now. They have serious quality control issues.
Using the SD card as internal storage and moving apps to SD card is disabled by most of the mobile manufacturers as they greatly impact the security and performance of phones.
Smart Lock is a known issue from Google's side, they even removed the feature silently for some time through Google Play Sevices update.
Installing a lot of apps at once is indeed a heavy job on mid-range phones, so I would not be surprised if this happens when really overloading the phone with memory consuming jobs.
