Factory Reset

Has anyone any idea how often should I prefor factory data reset?  I did not perform factory reset since 11.10.2017 before last software update for Xperia XA. I appreciate any kind of reply. Thanks!

Try a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

If I have done factory reset and find out i failed to do a complete backup how do i recover  whatsapp media and the backup file that was in internal memory?

If you have set WhatsApp to do a daily backup then you will have everything back.
