In my opinion, the phone should switch to the best possible network mode independently what it does not. At 2G we have 1-2 bars at the site. With LTE (Bvorzugt) no bar. The phone stays in LTE / 4G mode although a better signal (db) would be possible with 2G.
A test with a Huawei Mate 8 with LTE shows 3 bars at the same location.
The reception quality of the Sony is extremely bad because with other manufacturers no problems with the same provider and Simcard itself.
