Phone doesn't recognize charger.
Hi @Jasonherdsman, welcome to our forum!
I'm sorry to hear about this.
Is this something that you has started to occur very recently, for example after updating the device or installing a new application?
If you charging the device with the wall mounted charger, try and see if you are able to charger it using a USB port on for example, a computer. That way we can see if the wall mounted charger is causing this behaviour or if it's the cable/device. You can also try charging the device when it's powered off.
If one of your friends, colleague or family members also has an Xperia device, you can ask them if you can borrow their charger and see if you are still experiencing the same behaviour.
Let me know how it goes!
It must have been a software issue because instead of restarting the phone like I tried before I powered it off completely and plug it in and then it started charging. So I sum it up to be a software glitch.
Hi again!
I'm glad to hear that it's charging now again! Have you experienced this again or has it continued to work since you experienced this a few weeks ago?
Feel free to keep me updated!
So far so good..its charging now without interruptions.
Thanks for the update and I'm really glad to hear that!
Please let me know if you experience this behaviour again or if you have any other questions!
This is now happening on my phone, the charger works perfectly on other devices, tried restarting my phone and its started charging again. However, this morning it won't charge again. Ugh do i need to keep restarting it just to charge it?
Hi @Jaz14, sorry to hear about this and I apologize for the late reply.
That sounds very strange that it's starts to charge after the device has been restarted. Is the device working as it should when you are trying to charge it, or is it frozen / powered off? Also, do you remember if you installed a new application prior to this starting to occur or if you updated the software in your device?
How often would you say that this is occurring and are you charging the device using the wall mounted charger or just the cable and a USB port on for example, a computer? If you are using the wall mounted charger, try just using the USB cable and see if there is any change.
