Android 8.0 oreo upgrade for Xperia Xa1-ultra on 05/06/2018

My phone have the following problem after upgrade to Android 8.0.0:

1. the phone become very warm than normal when using and charging,

2. the battery consumption is high, 3 hours to use 80% of the charge after full charge, and

3. the charging is also very slow.

Please advice whether the ROM Build No. 48.1.A.2.21 is suitable for Xperia XA1 ultra.

Thank you.

Hello @Lingus

And welcome to the forum Slightly_smiling_Face

So sorry to know that Slightly_frowning_Face

Can you please tell me if you update your device today or this week? I'm saying this because after a major android update, the phone takes some time to settle everything in the background!

Some processes initiated by the update will continue running in the background for some time, for example:

  • The indexing of files.
  • The updating of pre-installed apps. The apps are updated when the device is turned on and connected to the Internet for the first time after the update.

The processes running in the background are using the processor a lot, causing the device to be temporarily perceived as slow for a day or two. This behaviour is normal during indexing and app updates.

Please, let me know your feedback!

Hello,

I have the same problem after upgrade 05/06/18 Xperia Xa1-ultra (48.1.A.2.21)

How can I downgrade my phone to previous firmware version?

Hi @AlexBBB

Since you have updated two days ago, i recomend you to wait till tomorrow,  since when you have performed an Android system update, it may take up to two days for the device software to stabilise.

It´s not possible, by any official way, to downgrade your device!

If the problem persists, i recomend you to restart the device. If that doesn´t help, you can try or a factory data reset or a software reapair, using Xperia Companion!

Please, be aware that those two procedures will erase all the data you have expect the one present on an sd-card.  You can make a backup to a computer using the Xperia Companion.

You can also format your sd-card, since it will remove all files and folders including any leftover data and corrupted file.

To perform a factory data reset

  1. Back up any important data that is saved on the internal memory of your device to, for example, an SD card or to a cloud backup service (online account). If you have any encrypted files stored on an SD card, you should also remove the encryption to ensure you can still access them after the reset.
  2. Make sure you know your Google™ account username and password.
  3. Find and tap Settings > System > Reset.
  4. Tap Factory data reset > RESET PHONE.
  5. If required, draw your screen unlock pattern or enter your screen unlock password or PIN to continue.
  6. To confirm, tap ERASE EVERYTHING.

Performing a software repair

  1. Make sure you know your Google™ account username and password. Depending on your Xperia™ device's security settings, you may need to enter them in order to start up your Xperia™ device after a software repair. Tip: If you don't remember your Google™ account username or password, you can try to recover them using the Google Account Recovery page at https://www.google.com/accounts/recovery/?hl=en.
  2. Computer: If not already installed, download and install the Xperia™ Companion application from https://support.sonymobile.com/xperia-companion/.
  3. Open the Xperia™ Companion application.
  4. Under Manage your Xperia, click Software repair.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Formatting the memory card

  1. Find and tap Settings > Storage.
  2. Tap SD card > the menu icon (three vertical dots), then tap Storage settings > Format > ERASE & FORMAT.

Plese, let me know if that helps!
