The screen does not come to full brightness when a call comes in

 The subject line says it. When I have the phone in my belt case and a call comes in, when I pull it out the screen is at only about half brightness, not enough to see all the information. What can I do to fix this?

No, I haven't enabled adaptive brightness. I've read bad things about it. I can try it, though.

The problem is still there. Does anyone have any ideas? A Sony rep wanted to blame it on the case. That's irrelevant. When I pull it out, it's out.

Is brightness on auto?

Maybe when you get messages/calls its in the dark(case)so lights up bright, then when you take phone out into the light it automatically dims.

Try turning smart back light control off and adaptive brightness off. Then turn brightness up and restart phone.

Interesting idea, but it's much dimmer than normal

Adaptive brightness was never on, but smart backlight was. I'll see if turning it off makes a difference

How is your device reacting in safe mode?

Any difference?
